We’re now in the third day of the famed month of Movember. That’s right. Movember. If you’ve never experienced the month of Movember, let me give you a primer…
Movember is a month where men everywhere are growing out their moustaches to raise awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer Canada
What many people don’t know is that 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer to afflict Canadian men with 25,500 diagnosed and 4,400 dying from the disease each year.
1 in 6?!?! I stand a better chance of getting Prostate cancer than I do of making it to a meeting on time! That’s disturbing. I like my prostate. A lot. More than most men.
Now, you may not know this, but my facial hair growing abilities are paltry at best, but I will make a concerted effort to encourage my mo to grow so that you might donate some mo funds in support of Prostate Cancer research. I’ll keep you updated on my blog as best I can on the progress of my mo, and if all goes well and my little mo grows, I may even keep it until Christmas so that all you folks and family back home can marvel at the glory of my facial hair when I visit in December.
To make a donation, you can either:
• Click this link and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account , or
• Write a cheque payable to ‘Prostate Cancer Canada’, referencing my Registration Number 324294 and mailing it to: Prostate Cancer Canada, 145 Front Street East, Ste. 306, Toronto, ON M5A 1E3, Canada.
All donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Thanks for your support and I’ll keep you in the know about my mo!
Update:
At the request of many people, I am including a picture of the beginning of my Mo.
This picture was taken on Movember 4th, and is, in actual fact, 4 days worth of Mo growth.
